Christopher Rogers PT, MPT, Cert. MDT, CIDN, AIB-VR/CON, CSMS
Chris Rogers is the founder and owner of Rogers Physical Therapy & Performance. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Health Fitness and Kinesiology from the University of North Carolina - Charlotte. During his time at UNC-Charlotte, Chris was also a member of the Division I Men's Soccer Team. He later pursued his Masters of Physical Therapy from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2003.
Chris worked for HealthReach Rehabilitation Services in Brookfield, WI for a number of years and later was the Director of a new HealthReach satellite clinic in Glendale, WI. Chris, and his wife Katie (who is also a Physical Therapist), moved to Blacksburg, VA in 2010 where he was the Clinic Director for University Physical Therapy in Blacksburg. Chris was also the Director of Physical Therapy for Virginia Tech Athletics where he worked with Division 1 athletes of all teams. In 2015, Chris and his family then moved back to WI where he was the Clinic Director for HealthReach Rehabilitation Services Hales Corners Clinic for 1 year. After missing Blacksburg dearly for 1 year, he and his family returned to Blacksburg where he worked for Carilion Clinic and was the Director of both the Blacksburg and Christiansburg Physical Therapy Clinics until he decided to open Rogers Physical Therapy & Performance in June 2019.
Chris is credentialed in the McKenzie method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT), certified in Functional Dry Needling, certified in IASTM (Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization) and certified in Vestibular and Concussion Rehabilitation. Chris Rogers has been awarded OurHealth's "Best Bedside Manner" Awards for Physical Therapists in the New River Valley several times over the years since moving to the area in 2010. Chris brings over 18 years of experience in directing and practicing in a variety of orthopedic clinics in both Wisconsin and Virginia. He has been involved in sports his entire life and has done Nike SPARQ training with football and soccer athletes over the years. Chris is certified in Sportsmetrics ACL Injury Prevention and Performance Training Program. Rogers Physical Therapy & Performance is a Certified Clinical Site of Cincinnati Sports Medicine Research and Education Foundation.
Since knowing he wanted to become a Physical Therapist in 8th Grade, Chris had a dream of owning his own Physical Therapy practice. Over the years of practicing, that dream became stronger with seeing the direction of Physical Therapy and the medical field become more and more dictated by insurance companies, the drive for increased productivity and less focused on patient care. This is why Chris decided to create Rogers Physical Therapy & Performance as a cash-based clinic to provide the patient with the best experience and care possible.
Chris is a resident of Blacksburg and enjoys spending time with his wife, 3 children and his dog Kuna. Chris is an avid Hokie fan, die hard Packers fan (Cheesehead) and loves his alma mater Wisconsin Badgers.
